Darone Sassounian is a selector and producer from Los Angeles, who's the head of the label, Rocky Hill. He combines music from the 70’s and 80’s while bringing a modern touch to them in order to attract all audiences.
In 2021, he released “Silk Road: Journey of the Armenian Diaspora: 1971 - 1982” on Terrestrial Funk with artists varying from Harout Pamboukjian, Eddy Jeghelian, Marten Yorgantz, and other musicians from the Armenian diaspora.
Darone Sassounian’s compilations celebrates Armenian culture and identity while simultaneously infusing modern influences of disco, funk, and soul creating a unique blend of cultures.
