The 2020 Artsakh War between Armenia and Azerbaijan displaced tens of thousands of Armenian families and has wounded the Armenian people both physically and emotionally. As a result, mothers living in Goris raise and protect their children under the constant threat of Azeri invasion.

“When the war started I was expecting my second child who was due in about a month. Once the war began people told us to leave. But we couldn’t leave our home. How can you leave when half your family isn’t with you? How can you leave them in the war zone?”

Project Mayreeg is a non-profit initiative started by Kooyrigs after the 2020 Artsakh War. It supports 270 displaced mothers from Artsakh and Armenia with immediate aid.
