Lillian Avedian, an Armenian-American poet and the author of “Journey to Tatev”, a poetry collection that follows a young queer woman on her journey from Yerevan to Tatev. She was born and raised in Los Angeles and has started writing from when she was 5 years old.

She began this journey and gained inspiration when she discovered feminist Armenian authors, she saw her narrative reflected accurately when she read their poetry. Avedian explains how she was able to process her queer experiences by writing and working through those difficulties.

Lillian Avedian wishes to connect the intersection between the queer and Armenian communities struggles, having faced oppression while rising above with resilience. She believes that beautiful art can be formed when we intersect the queer and Armenian communities.
